Aunt Jemimas of another color

You know a newspaper like The Stranger is too racist to care if anyone except an African-American is beaten, stabbed, robbed, or killed, but you'd think that Seattle would have other voices defending the lives and property of minorities, but the truth is that

After the brutal beatings of the Rainier Beach King Donut owners Chea Pol--teeth knocked to the back of her throat--and Heng Hay and only a day earlier that of the Georgetown gas station attendant--left for dead in a pool of blood and now half-blind and in critical condition--have Kshama Sawant (Seattle Council member) and Assunta Eng (publisher of the Northwest Asian Weekly) now become the Aunt Jemimas of the Asian-American community?

Or, maybe they've been just too caught up in the self-righteous excitement of the Seattle demonstrations against Ferguson and the NYPD to notice or care...

Or, in the case of Ms. Ng, too busy flying free first-class and being put up at first-class hotels, courtesy of Delta Airlines, while modestly bragging in her own newspaper about her junket tours on return to the States...

Such carefully calculated devotion to her causes (mostly, her vainglorious, badly accented self).
