I didn't know what time it was






My experience of the humanities at the graduate school level is that a premium is placed on  exhaustive research that goes into the minutiae that only a few other people would understand, much less appreciate.

The second thing that graduate school taught me is that the Truth is always tempered by Power.   You have no voice unless you are do as you are told.  And that the Power manifests itself in tacit threats, innuendo, and transparently bendable rules.

The dissemination of opinions and theories depends on Control.

Whoever has Control is able to stomp on those with less of the mojo (Control).

Not exactly a game for gentle men (or gentle women).
